Installation
- MobileRemote may be installed either through the desktop with an MSI or directly on
the device with a CAB file.
- Installing with the MSI will launch an application on your desktop computer and
then finish the install on your mobile device.
- After installation, you will then be able to launch MobileRemote.
Configuration
- The launcher for MobileRemote can be found in the start menu.
- Connecting With a New Device
- To connect to an already paired machine, select the machine and click OK. You
will be connected instantly.
- To pair MobileRemote with a new PC, follow the steps below:
- Unpair your phone with the PC if it is already paired. Since MobileRemote is
exposing new functionality to your PC, you must reconnect so that the PC will
know your phone's functionality has changed.
- On the phone, Select "Pair with new device" from the drop down list and click
OK.
- On the PC, go through the process of pairing a new Bluetooth device.
- When prompted for a passcode, either choose not to enter one, or use one of your
choosing.
- Click finish and MobileRemote should connect right away.
Usage
- Keyboard - MobileRemote supports multiple keyboard inputs
- The full-screen keyboard. Use the full-screen keyboard for easy touch typing
- Built-in SIP keyboards - Use any of your phone's built in keyboards
- Hardware keyboards - If you phone has a built in hardware keyboard, you may use
that as well.
- Touch Pad
- Simply drag your finger around the screen to move the mouse on your PC
- Tap the left or right button to left or right click on your PC
- Tap and Hold the left or right button to force the left or right mouse button
down on your PC. Tap again to release.
- This allows you to drag and drop or highlight
- Scroll webpages and applications by swiping your finger up or down on the right
side of the screen.
- Mouse
- The mouse control can be used in one of two ways
- Use the d-pad to move the mouse up/down/left/right on your PC. Click the center
button to mouse click.
- If your phone has a built-in accelerometer, you may simply tilt the phone to
move the mouse on your PC.
- Media Control
- You may control the media playback on your PC by using the media control.
- The supported functions are:
- Play/pause
- Skip forward
- Skip backward
- Volume up
- Volume down
- Configuring MobileRemote
- MobileRemote has a number of customizable options. To access settings specific
to each control, select Control Settings. To access connection settings, select
Connection Settings.
